1. Who we are

Soundscape Ventures ("Soundscape", "we", "us") is a music management, training and distribution company registered in Nigeria. For the purposes of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) we are a Data Controller of the personal information collected through this website, our programs and our events.

2. What we collect

• Contact information you submit via forms (name, email, phone, message).
• Application materials for programs, residencies and the talent roster (portfolio links, demos, IDs where required).
• Booking and payment details for events and services, processed by our payment partners.
• Technical data (IP address, browser, device) and basic analytics on how the site is used.

3. How we use it

• To respond to enquiries and process program/residency applications.
• To deliver our services, events and distribution operations.
• To comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations in Nigeria.
• To improve the website, our programs and our communications.

We rely on the lawful bases set out in section 25 of the NDPA — primarily your consent, the performance of a contract with you, and our legitimate interests.

4. Sharing

We share personal data only with vetted processors who help us run the business (hosting, email, payment, analytics, distribution platforms) and with regulators or law enforcement where required by Nigerian law. We do not sell your data.

5. International transfers

Some of our processors operate outside Nigeria. Where personal data leaves Nigeria we ensure the transfer is permitted under the NDPA — either to a jurisdiction with adequate protection, under appropriate contractual safeguards, or with your explicit consent.

6. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, plus any period required by law (for example, tax records are kept for at least six years).

7. Your rights under the NDPA

You can ask us to: access the data we hold on you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, port it to another provider, or withdraw a consent you previously gave. To make a request, email privacy@soundscapeventures.ng. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, vendor due diligence) to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure — we will notify you and the NDPC of any breach that meaningfully affects your rights, within the timelines set by the NDPA.

9. Children

Our programs are aimed at adults (18+). Where a participant is a minor we collect verifiable parental or guardian consent before processing their data.
